                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THOMPSON
                   STREET AND AN UNNAMED STREET LOCATED SOUTHWEST
                   FROM BRAINERD ROAD, SOUTHEAST OF ORIOLE DRIVE,
                   MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, UPON
                   CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned Thompson Street and an unnamed street located
         southwest from Brainerd Road, southeast of Oriole Drive, more
         particularly described herein, and as shown on plat attached
         hereto and made a part hereof by reference:
                   All the remaining part of Thompson Street
                (unopened) not abandoned by Ordinance No. 5920. 
                Said part of street begins on the southwest line of
                Brainerd Road 498 feet southeast of the
                intersection of the southwest line of Brainerd Road
                with the southeast line of Oriole Drive, thence
                southeast some 20 feet with Brainerd Road, thence
                southwest some 382.5 feet to the northeast line of
                Provence Street, thence northwest some 81.5 feet
                with Provence Street to the most southerly corner
                of lot 6, Plat of West View, E.M. and L. T.
                Prigmore's Subdivision of S.M. Walker Estate, as
                shown by plat of record in plat book 8, page 21,
                ROHC, thence northeast some 58.75 feet with the
                southeast line of said lot 6 to the northwest line
                of that part of Thompson Street abandoned by
                Ordinance No. 5920, thence southwest some 27.75

                feet with said abandoned street to the northwest
                line of a 100 foot TVA right-of-way, thence
                northeast some 28.5 feet with said TVA right-of-way
                to the southeast line of said abandoned part of
                Thompson Street, thence northeast some 353.25 feet
                with said abandoned street to the southwest line of
                Brainerd Road, the point of beginning.
               
                The northwest 20 feet of an unnamed, unopened, 40
                foot right-of-way as shown on T.M. Clemons and L.T.
                Prigmore Plat of Amended Subdivision of East View
                Terrace, as shown by plat of record in plat book 8,
                page 28, ROHC.  Said part of street begins on the
                northeast line of Provence Street some 648.12 feet
                southeast of the intersection of the northeast line
                of Provence Street with the southeast line of
                Oriole Drive, thence northeast some 245 feet
                parallel to the southeast line of a 100 foot TVA
                right-of-way, thence southeast some 21.75 feet to
                the southeast line of said TVA right-of-way, thence
                southwest some 230.75 feet with the southeast line
                of said right-of-way to the northeast line of
                Provence Street, thence northwest some 28.75 feet
                with Provence Street to the point of beginning. Tax
                Map No. 157A-G-3, 7, and 9.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure
         and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions:
                1. The City of Chattanooga has a sewer located
                   within said right-of-way and reserves an
                   easement the width of the right-of-way for the
                   purpose of maintaining said sewer.
                  
                2. The areas reserved for utility easements must be
                   kept free and clear of all structures.
               
                3. All existing easements are retained.

              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
